Why we must be mindful of how we choose to spend it

I believe that time, even though intangible, is the most valuable aspect of life. Similar to money, time can be wasted or saved. However, unlike money, you can never get the time back you’ve spent or wasted. Time is everything. Nothing can escape it--living or inanimate. Everything ages over time. Time heals us, teaches us, allows us to grow as a person, and builds relationships. It is important for us to remember how valuable our time is and make the absolute most of it.


How We Spend Our Time

The way we spend our time makes up who we are as a person. It is important to spend our days doing activities that we love and make us happy. That being said, it is equally important to make time for things that allow us to succeed. For example, dedicating time to study or do work is necessary for us to be productive human beings. However, it is equivalently important to dedicate time to exercise, rest, stretch, or partake in other activities that help to heal our mind and body. Think about all of the time we waste on our phones mindlessly scrolling through social media or texting instead of living in the moment. Try to be mindful of the amount of time wasted on doing things that don’t add value to your life. I’ve personally found it very useful to set time limits on my social media apps to limit distractions and stop me from wasting worthy time that could be allocated more wisely and positively.

Who We Spend Our Time With


Time is limited, which is why it is so important to spend it with the right people. In some ways, you are the people you spend the most time with. The people we choose to surround ourselves with are the people who influence our decisions and make us the people we are. Spending time with people who don’t make us happy is time wasted. Cut out time wasters and toxic people in your life and only make room for the people who deserve it! Be very careful about who is enhancing your life and who is wasting your time. Make sure to spend a significant amount of time with the people you care about as often as possible..
